PROJECT TASK
Design and prototype the packaging, graphics, and chocolate forms for an original chocolate brand.
PROJECT GOAL
Design a brand identity and prototype for an interactive chocolate box. Translate the box design into Illustrator and cut the final prototype using a Universal VLS 4.60 Laser Cutter.

RESULTS
The final box design solution for the COCO GEO box emulates the look of a traditional chocolate bar. Inspired by Bauhaus sculptures, COCO GEO chocolates feature inset, interlocking notches that allow users to build chocolate sculptures!
INSPIRATION
The bold patterns and modular furniture of the Memphis Group inspired me. I decided to incorporate their iconic geometric style into the packaging design of my box.
I aimed to emulate the Memphis Group’s use of fun geometric connections while sketching ideas for how the chocolate shapes could interlock.
SKETCHES
I developed clay prototypes of each shape to test the chocolate’s sculptural interactivity and interlocking mechanisms.
PROTOTYPES
After initial measurements, I prototyped the packaging in Adobe Illustrator; then, I set up the Laser Cutter with 1/16-inch chipboard and began laser cutting!
PACKAGING
Once the cut and score lines were perfected, I set up the Laser Cutter with a 1/16-inch chipboard and began!
I angled the box’s inset so that the chocolates would slide out in a fun, modular arrangement.
The final brand identity emphasizes the natural aspects of COCO GEO chocolates. Inspired by the cacao plant, the color palette features warm greens and earthy browns.
